About Suffolk County Court Records

Court records in Suffolk County live across several offices, the Trial Court departments, the Suffolk County Registry of Deeds, the Sheriff's Department, the City of Boston Registry Division, and a handful of state agencies. Finding the right office on the first try is half the battle. This site was built so visitors can land on the right portal, address, or phone number for Boston, Chelsea, Revere, or Winthrop without bouncing between government websites.

Why We Built This Site

Massachusetts gives the public broad access to court records, but the system is split across the Trial Court departments. The Superior Court clerk handles felony and major civil files at 3 Pemberton Square in Boston. The Probate and Family Court register handles divorce, estates, and guardianship at 24 New Chardon Street. Boston Municipal Court divisions handle most Boston misdemeanors and small claims. Chelsea District Court covers Chelsea and Revere. Land records sit with the Suffolk County Registry of Deeds. Marriage records sit with city or town clerks. This site pulls contact details, search portals, fee notes, and request steps for each of those offices into one place.

What You Will Find Here

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Massachusetts court, the Suffolk County Sheriff, the Registry of Deeds, or any state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with on this page:

  • We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf.
  • We cannot issue certified copies of any court document, deed, or vital record.
  • We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you.
  • We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now.

Only the issuing court, clerk, register, or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. This site can point you to the right office, but the document itself has to come from them.

Search Partners

Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When a visitor uses one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, this site may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep the site free for Suffolk County visitors. We do not control what those tools charge or what shows up in their results.

Keeping Information Current

Clerk offices move. Hours change. Phone numbers get reassigned. We update pages as we hear about changes, but gaps happen. Before you drive to a courthouse in downtown Boston or to the Chelsea satellite, call ahead first to confirm hours and the office that holds your record.
